Evolution Markets was founded in 2000 by seasoned commodity brokers, who were are the forefront of carbon, renewable energy, and other environmental markets. The principals still run the firm – backed by an experienced executive team. Overtime, Evolution Markets has grown into a leader in global commodity markets poised for continued growth.
Evan Ard is the President of Evolution Markets. Mr. Ard is responsible for global corporate management of the business, as well as charting the firm’s strategic direction and overseeing the expansion of its service offerings. Previously he led Evolution Markets business development and strategy, including identification of new markets, strategic partnerships, new business acquisitions, new product and service introductions, and organic business growth. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ard worked at the New York-based public relations agency Southard Communications and Northern States Power Company and its subsidiary NRG Energy.
Mr. Zaborowsky is a Managing Director and the Head of Brokerage Operations for Evolution Markets. A co-founder of Evolution Markets and a pioneer of environmental markets, Mr. Zaborowsky has experience as both a trader and a broker. He manages Evolution Markets global brokerage groups, which serves nearly two dozen energy and environmental commodity markets. Prior to founding Evolution Markets, Mr. Zaborowsky spent 15 years in the energy industry, including facilitating many of the milestone trades in environmental commodities as a broker at Natsource LLC.
Michael Cartaya is a Vice President of Evolution Markets. Mr. Cartaya is responsible for Evolution’s global technology strategy, platform development, technology operations and information security initiatives. Prior to joining Evolution, Mr. Cartaya held technology leadership positions throughout the financial services sector. Mr. Cartaya holds both a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union & NYIT and an MBA from NYU Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Matthew Knox is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Evolution Markets. Mr. Knox directs all corporate legal matters and contributes strategic counsel for firm-wide business development. Previously, he was Deputy General Counsel at Investment Technology Group (acquired by Virtu Financial) and an Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Mr. Knox has a juris doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law.
