The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) announced today the results of the 51st quarterly auction of CO2 allowances.
All of the allowances on offer were sold at the auction held on March 03, 2021. The clearing price of $7.60 was the highest ever, and nearly $0.20 higher than the last auction in December.
The March auction offered 23 million allowances from participating RGGI states, which was the largest amount on offer since the 21st Auction in 2013. More details on the auction are in the table below:
