The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) announced today the results of the 47th quarterly auction of CO2 allowances.
All of the allowances on offer were sold at the auction held on March 11, 2020. The clearing price of $5.65 was $0.04 higher than the last auction in December , but demand was up 12%.
The March auction offered 1 million allowances from participating RGGI states. Compliance-oriented entities purchased just 48% of the allowances on offer. More details on the auction are in the table below:
