The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) announced today the results of the 56th quarterly auction of CO2 allowances.
All of the allowances on offer were sold at the auction held on June 01, 2022. The clearing price of $13.90 was the highest ever, and in fact represented the sixth consecutive auction that cleared at a record price. The previous auction in March cleared $13.50.
The June auction offered 22 million allowances from participating RGGI states. The ratio of bids to supply was 2.6x and featured 69 bidders. More details on the auction are in the table below:
