The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) announced today the results of the 45th quarterly auction of CO2 allowances.
All of the allowances on offer were sold at the auction held on September 04, 2019. The clearing price of $5.20 was the lowest since the September 2018 auction.
The September 2019 auction offered 13 million allowances from participating RGGI states. Compliance-oriented entities purchased 61% of the allowances on offer, a substantial increase from the 38% share recorded in the last auction. More details on the auction are in the table below:
