The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) announced today the results of the 43rd quarterly auction of CO2 allowances.
All of the allowances on offer were sold at the auction held on March 13, 2019. The clearing price of $5.27 was slightly below the $5.35 price from the last auction in December.
The March auction offered 12.8 million allowances from participating RGGI states. Compliance-oriented entities purchased 51% of the allowances on offer, well below the 69% level of the previous auction. More details on the auction are in the table below:
