The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) announced today the results of the 41st quarterly auction of CO2 allowances.
All of the allowances on offer were sold at the auction held on September 05, 2018. The clearing price of $4.50 was the highest level since the September 2016 auction, which cleared $4.54.
The September auction offered nearly 13.5 million allowances from participating RGGI states. Compliance-oriented entities purchased 61% of the allowances on offer, well above the 36% level in the previous auction held in June. More details on the auction are in the table below:
